CompuGroup Medical takes great pride in participating in projects that drive eHealth forward. We are present at multiple levels ranging from local community projects to large Pan-European projects.
About epSOS
CompuGroup Medical is an active participant in the project: European Patients Smart Open Services (epSOS). It is currently the largest European eHealth project organized by 27 benefactors representing 12 EU-member states. The epSOS goal is to establish a common eHealth framework that supports secure access to patient summaries and ePrescriptions across different European healthcare systems. It is structured as an information and communication technology policy support project, through which current healthcare information systems communicate across borders and operate reciprocally.
The role of CompuGroup Medical
CompuGroup Medical is assisting the epSOS define the format of what will be the standard in European healthcare information. The project will be tested in pilots, involving hospitals, doctors and pharmacies.
The main purpose is to test the interoperability of existing
technical solutions in the participating member states. The results
of the project will include recommendations, organizational or
technical specifications or software tools. CompuGroup Medical will
be processing and implementing these results accordingly.
The beneficiaries
The beneficiaries of the project are primarily European citizens through increased patient mobility. It will, however, also increase efficiency and cost effectiveness for healthcare professionals treating European citizens. Overall the project is highly regarded by CompuGroup Medical and it is a significant step towards CompuGroup Medical's overall goal of "Synchronising the World of Healthcare".
