1987-1997

In 1987, Frank Gotthardt established the company DENTEV Dental GmbH, which supplied dentists with intelligent EDP solutions. Mr. Gotthardt's vision to develop and supply superior information technology to the healthcare sector is born. Financial and medical success soon followed as the healthcare industry saw the benefits and the improvements brought about by the DENTEV Dental software.

The first acquisition

After just six years DENTEV Dental acquired its first company: the larger competitor CompuDENT AG. The DENTEV business model furnished CompuDENT with the clarity in vision to increase performance creating a single and more powerful player in the market. This acquisition became the first of many.

A group is created

By 1995 the company had widened its focus and expanded into new business areas. This meant supplying IT-systems to GPs under its new name: CompuMED Praxis Coputer GmbH & CO. Meanwhile the dental software division became the German market leader after the acquisition of ZVG Zahnarzt-Rechner GmbH. Following another acquisition, this time of GP-systems supplier ALBIS Ärzteservice Product GmbH, in June 1997 the entire company was renamed CompuGroup Holding AG, reflecting the now bigger and more diversified company.
