1998-2006
Following the formation of CompuGroup Holding AG an ambitious growth strategy was formed and implemented. This led to the acquisition of the ChreMaSoft Group, which further increased CompuGroup's market share to 60%, making CompuGroup Holding AG the new market leader in dentist-system software. Later, a capital increase, made by General Atlantic LLC, paved the way to yet another growth spree through the acquisitions of MEDISTAR Group and TurboMed EDV GmbH. Moreover, these acquisitions strengthened CompuGroup's sound position in the German market.
International Expansion
Having achieved a strong position in the German market CompuGroup looked to expand internationally. In the summer of 2004 CompuGroup saw its first international expansion through the acquisition of the Czech company DIALOG MIS. Shortly after, CompuGroup bought French companies La Réseau Santé Social SAS and Axilog SAS ensuring a strong presence in the French market.
Avalanche of takeovers
During 2006, CompuGroup saw a rapid increase in corporate takeovers throughout Europe. In Poland CompuGroup acquired hospital software supplier UHC Sp. z o.o. The first move into southern Europe was made through the purchase of a significant equity stake in Spanish Medigest Consultatores S.L. and Italian FimeSan Spa. To the east CompuGroup expands its presence by purchasing the Czech company SMS spol. s r.o. and its Slovakian subsidiary by the same name. In addition, several German acquisitions are made further expanding CompuGroup's product portfolio within hospital and data-communication software.
