Our History

Frank Gotthardt founded CompuGroup Medical in 1987. The company was, and still is, built on the belief that electronic patient handling leads to better healthcare. This belief has shouldered CompuGroup Medical's unprecedented growth. Today Frank Gotthardt, still CEO, runs a company with offices in 2o countries world wide employing approximately 3600 people.

A success story

Few would have imagined that the birth of a dentist IT-system some twenty years ago would grow to become one of the world's leading companies in the medical information technology sector. With turnover of almost 300million Euros the history of CompuGroup Medical is a tale of passion and success.

Joint history

The history of CompuGroup Medical is closely tied to that of founder and CEO Frank Gotthardt. Mr. Gotthardt's drive and clarity of vision gave birth to a business model that was expandable to multiple areas in healthcare. The first IT-system was focused purely on managing information in dentistry. A few years later the product focus was expanded and as of 2010 CompuGroup Medical's product portfolio covers areas within dentistry, GPs, laboratories, hospitals and more.

Creating History

At present, history remains in the making as CompuGroup Medical continues to deliver new innovative solutions within medical information technology. Currently, approximately 385.000 healthcare professionals benefit from CompuGroup Medical software. This, however, is only the tip of the iceberg. CompuGroup Medical's mission is to enable individual citizens to access their individual medical data anywhere at any time. This allows not only healthcare professionals to benefit from our software but also the millions of people treated by these professionals.
